Migration Checklist
A clean migration starts before files are copied. Use this checklist to prepare a site, domain, and email system for moving to JIJ hosting.
Access to Collect
Current hosting login, domain registrar login, WordPress or CMS admin login, database access, DNS provider access, and email provider access should be gathered before scheduling the move.
Website Inventory
Document the platform, PHP version, database names, plugins, forms, cron jobs, uploads, redirects, and any third-party integrations that the site depends on.
Email Protection
Before changing nameservers, identify existing MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Email records should be preserved or intentionally replaced so mail does not break during launch.
Testing Before Cutover
The migrated site should be checked for page loading, forms, admin login, SSL behavior, media, database connections, and important redirects before public DNS changes.
Launch and Follow-Up
After nameservers or DNS records change, allow time for propagation. Re-test the site, SSL, email, forms, analytics, and any payment or login flows.
